Girls Flag Football
Program Summary
Flag Football is an exciting addition to the Stags athletics program, built on dedication, teamwork, and competition. Introduced in the fall of 2025, the program fields two teams in its inaugural season, giving student-athletes the opportunity to be part of a sport on the rise. With no prior experience required, players of all skill levels can get involved, develop their game, and compete together.
As flag football continues to grow across the state, it has now been officially recognized by the Kansas State High School Activities Association beginning with the 2026–27 school year. The program is further strengthened through support from the Kansas City Chiefs organization, which is helping expand opportunities for teams throughout the metro area.
Kevin Neenan
Coach Kevin Neenan brings nearly two decades of football coaching experience and a deep passion for growing the game at every level. Since 2008, he has coached NE Johnson County CYO boys tackle football, working with athletes from St. Agnes, St. Ann, and JPII, while also serving in an administrative role within the league.
In 2023, Coach Neenan helped launch girls flag football at St. Agnes through the CYO league and continued coaching the program in 2024. Alongside Coach Holmes, he played an integral role in helping establish and grow CYO girls flag football, which has seen tremendous growth in just four years.
In 2025, Coach Neenan became the head coach of Bishop Miege girls flag football as the sport officially launched at the high school level. Passionate about the game and the opportunities it creates for student-athletes, he is excited to help build the foundation of the program and continue growing girls flag football at Miege.
