Program Summary
The Bishop Miege volleyball program is one of the most dominant in Kansas, boasting 29 state championships and a legacy of excellence. From 1980 to 2015, legendary coach Gwenn Pike led the Stags to unprecedented success, accumulating 1,228 wins over 36 seasons—the most in Kansas history. A member of the National High School Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame, Pike set the foundation for a powerhouse program.
Now under the leadership of Coach Lindsay Franco, Bishop Miege volleyball continues its tradition of greatness, developing top-tier athletes and competing at the highest level.

Lindsay Zych Franco
A Bishop Miege alum, Lindsay Zych Franco (‘12) continued her volleyball career at UMKC, playing four years at the collegiate level. She returned to her alma mater as head coach in 2022, bringing a winning pedigree from her time at Lansing High School, where she led the team to a 5A State Championship in 2021 and a 5A Runner-Up finish in 2020.
Since taking over at Miege, Coach Franco has guided the Stags to three consecutive 4A State Championships in 2022, 2023, and 2024, continuing the program’s storied tradition
