RETREATS

At Bishop Miege, retreats are a vital part of our mission to form faith-filled servant leaders rooted in Catholic tradition. Guided by faculty, staff, and peers, students step away from daily routines to encounter Christ more deeply and reflect on their purpose in the world.

Each year, our retreat program invites students to grow in faith and community through intentional time with God and one another. From freshmen to seniors, these experiences are thoughtfully designed to meet students where they are and lead them where Christ is calling them to go. In the stillness of retreat and the Sacraments, students discover clarity, connection, and a deeper sense of purpose. 

    Freshmen "Who Are You, Lord?"

    Held during the first semester at Bishop Miege and St. Agnes, this school-day retreat invites freshmen to step into high school with a spirit of openness and reflection. Led by faculty, staff, and senior students, the day creates space for freshmen to explore their relationship with God and begin to consider how faith can shape their identity and experience at Miege.

    Sophomores "Who Am I, Lord?"

    Taking place during the second semester at Bishop Miege and St. Agnes, this school-day retreat offers sophomores an opportunity for deeper self-awareness through prayer, the Sacraments, and meaningful connection with their peers. With guidance from faculty, staff, and senior leaders, students consider how their lives are shaped by God’s presence.

    Juniors "What Are You Calling Me to, Lord?"

    Offered in the second semester, this retreat allows juniors to step away as a class and immerse themselves in the Sacraments and prayer.  Supported by faculty and senior leaders, students are invited to consider the deeper direction of their lives and how God might be speaking to them.

    Seniors "Upon This Rock"

    Taking place in the fall semester, this retreat gives seniors space to reflect on their journey so far and how they are being called to lead in their final year. With input from faculty and senior peers, students are invited to embrace the year ahead as the leaders of the school with courage, clarity, and a spirit of service.

    Kairos Retreats

    Held at the Franciscan Prayer Center and based on the national Cursillo retreat program for adults, Kairos is led by a team of students and faculty. Offered four times a year, this transformative three-day, two-night retreat invites seniors into a deeper encounter with themselves, others, and God. The experience blends personal testimony, quiet reflection, and deep connection.

    Senior Send-Off

    This one-day retreat in the spring semester on the Thursday before graduation gathers the entire senior class for a final time of reflection and community. Facilitated by members of the faculty, the day offers a chance to look back with gratitude, celebrate the journey, and look ahead with faith. It is a meaningful conclusion to the Miege experience, rooted in storytelling and friendship.

    In addition, all students are encouraged to participate in various spiritual formation opportunities, including Prayer and Action, the March for Life, the Topeka Rally for Life, and spring break and summer mission trips to West Virginia.

    Finding Christ in One Another Through Retreats

    Miege provided many opportunities to strengthen our relationship with God. I remember how Adoration at our Junior Retreat touched many people’s hearts. At our Kairos Retreat, we learned about each other on a deeper level, making our bonds even stronger. People shared their faith journeys, showing how God plays a crucial role in their lives. At the Senior send-off, we shared how we saw Christ in each other. Those experiences brought many of us to tears, the good kind, of course. We live out what it means to be a Stag: leading, seeing Christ in others, and building meaningful relationships wherever we go.
