Journey to the 2025 Ursuline Cup Shows Power of Miege’s Herd System
“I will forever remember Mr. Bohaty meeting all of us after we won the 2025 Ursuline Cup. I am so thankful that I came to Miege and was put into a family that I always know I can count on.”

Miege has so many different opportunities to grow in friendship with others, but my favorite part is the Herd System. The Herd System consists of eight Herds that are similar to a Harry Potter house system. They are named after impactful faculty members who influenced Miege in positive ways. Freshmen are assigned to a Herd and grow with that group throughout their four years. When I was a freshman, I was able to grow meaningful friendships with those in my Herd.
Finding faith and friendship through my Herd
Being part of a Herd means having a new family that will help you grow as a person, but ultimately grow in faith. I used the example of the seniors in my Herd above me and realized that I should use Miege to grow in faith. I created a strong bond with everyone in my Herd through fun competitions and sitting with them at All-School Mass.
Leading with heart and winning the 2025 Ursuline Cup together
After applying to be a Faith Family captain this year, I was nervous to keep the strong bond together that the Bohaty Herd has. I worked hard to keep all people involved and make the freshmen feel welcomed into this family. After numerous competitions and strategizing at Herd meetings, Bohaty ultimately won the 2025 Ursuline Cup. We all were proud of our hard work and knew that our Herd’s strong determination and bonds with each other made us win this year. I will forever remember Mr. Bohaty meeting all of us after we won the 2025 Ursuline Cup. I am so thankful that I came to Miege and was put into a family that I always know I can count on.
