Student Life

With a vibrant, inclusive student life, Bishop Miege is more than a school — it’s a place to belong.

From service and spirit events to clubs, athletics, and the arts, our students are encouraged to explore their passions, grow as leaders, and build lifelong connections. Our campus buzzes with a dynamic mix of academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and community spirit, creating an environment that fosters personal growth and friendships.

Extracurricular Opportunities

Student life at Bishop Miege extends far beyond the classroom. With a wide array of clubs, teams, and artistic opportunities, there’s something for everyone. Whether students are interested in joining the debate team, participating in theatre productions, signing up for the robotics program, or expressing themselves through the arts, they’ll find a welcoming community to share their passions.

Many of these programs have earned regional and state championships, and some have even achieved national recognition. Our students don’t just get involved, they excel.

Athletic Excellence

At Bishop Miege, athletic excellence is woven into the fabric of student life. With 25 KSHSAA-programs and seven competitive club sports, students have abundant opportunities to grow in skill, discipline, and teamwork.

Our coaches are dedicated to forming student-athletes who pursue greatness on and off the field, fostering a spirit of integrity, perseverance, and school pride. Whether competing for state titles or supporting one another in practice, Stags athletics is about more than winning — it’s about building character and a strong community that lasts far beyond the final whistle.

The Herd System

The Herd System is a unique part of student life that builds connection, mentorship, and school spirit across all grade levels. Each student is placed into one of eight Herds to create a sense of belonging from day one. Guided by faculty mentors, Herds meet regularly for activities that focus on faith, service, and fun.

This structure helps new students feel at home quickly and gives upperclassmen a meaningful way to lead and support their peers. The Herd System acts as the foundation for a strong, united Miege community.

Leadership and Development

Leadership opportunities abound at Bishop Miege, where students are encouraged to grow as confident, responsible, and ethical leaders. Through programs like Herd Council, our student-led governance body, and leadership roles embedded within every extracurricular group, students are given meaningful ways to take initiative and make an impact.

These transformational experiences go beyond titles; they nurture collaboration, decision-making, and a commitment to serving others. At Miege, students discover that leadership is less about recognition and more about lifting others and making their faith visible through action.
