At Bishop Miege, activities are a vital part of student life, offering meaningful ways to build community and develop leadership. Students are encouraged to get involved in areas that inspire them, from creative arts to academic honoraries and more. Announcements will be made during the school year about joining clubs and participating in the following:

Activities

Debate & Forensics

The debate and forensics programs challenge students to think critically and speak confidently. Teams compete against other debate and forensics teams in the state under our nationally award-winning coach.

Facets

Facets is the school’s fine arts magazine. Artwork and writing may be submitted by any student. Students in the digital design classes create the magazine.

Miege Weekly

The Adv. Video Production students work on episodes of the school’s broadcast episodes, including scriptwriting, filming, and editing before publication.

Music: Instrumental

The drumline and band bring spirit and excellence to every performance. From the sidelines of football games to school assemblies and community events, our musicians set the tone.

Music: Vocal

Through a wide range of sacred, classical, and contemporary music, choir members grow in vocal skill, confidence, and expression. Performances at liturgies, concerts, and state competitions allow students to share their gifts.

Newspaper

The Miegian newspaper gives students a platform to share stories that impact the Miege community. Students must have completed the prerequisite Journalism I class. Students work on every aspect of the award-winning newspaper, including reporting and designing, as well as running bmpress.org.

Robotics

Team 1997 members gain valuable skills in more than just building robots — they learn how to run a small business and solve real-world problems. Competition season runs from January to April, with sign-ups open in August and closed Oct. 1.

Scholars Bowl

A select group of students, freshman through seniors, interested and well informed in various academic areas, compete with teams from other schools. The team has won multiple awards, including a regional title.

Theatre

Each year, the theatre students produces a musical, a play, and student-directed one acts, offering opportunities for performers and technicians to collaborate and grow. Students have won local and national awards for their creativity.

Yearbook

Students on The Hart staff take on every aspect of creating our nationally award-winning yearbook — from reporting and writing to editing and design. Each staff member brings skills developed in Journalism I to produce a publication that captures the heart of Miege.

Honoraries

National Honor Society

The Albertus Magnus Chapter of the National Honor Society has existed since Bishop Miege opened its doors. Selected upperclassmen are voted into this academic organization. Requirements are: scholarship, leadership, character, and service, and a 3.75 GPA.

Mu Alpha Theta Math Honorary

Mu Alpha Theta honors students who excel in math and are dedicated to developing their problem-solving and leadership skills. To qualify, students must have completed at least two years of college prep math (including algebra and/or geometry), be enrolled in a third year, and hold a minimum 3.0 GPA in math.

National Art Honor Society

Students who have completed at least one semester of a visual art class and maintain a strong art GPA are eligible to join. Members must also demonstrate character and participate in art-related service.

National Scholastic Press Association

Students on the Hart yearbook staff or the Miegian newspaper staff are eligible for this honorary if they have served a publication with distinction for at least two years with exceptional journalistic excellence, staff leadership, and ethical reporting

National Speech and Debate Association

Students in the forensics and debate programs earn merit points for participation in competition, service, and leadership activities through the National Speech & Debate Association’s Honor Society (also known as the National Forensic League).

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is a national honor society that recognizes high school students for excellence in Spanish language studies. Eligible students must have completed at least four years of Spanish while maintaining an honors average.

Société Honoraire de Français

The Société Honoraire de Français is a national honor society recognizing high achievement in French language studies. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in their fourth year of French. Candidates need an A– in French for the previous three consecutive semesters.

Tri-M Music Honor Society

The Tri-M Music Honor Society, a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), focuses on creating future leaders in music education while providing students leadership opportunities to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.

AD DEUM POR SORORES

Our upperclassmen girls group is named after the Latin phrase for “To God Through Sisters.” This Bible study works to grow in friendship and holiness together.

A.C.E. MENTORS

The A.C.E. (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentors program connects students with professionals in these fields through real-world experiences and mentorship opportunities.

ASL CLUB

Students learn the basics of American Sign Language and practice signing with one another. The club also builds awareness while giving members a chance to grow in communication.

BAKING CLUB

Students bake together, share recipes, and build community through food and fun.

BEGINNING ANIMATION

Beginner’s Animation Club exists to educate students on bringing illustrations to life. The club is open to any student at any skill level.

Students bring different games and collaborate with one another as they develop strategies and cooperation.

EA 26 CLUB

Are you a fan of video games and strategy? The EA 26 Club is the place to be! Members come together to play, compete, and learn the ins and outs of EA SPORTS FC 26.

CAMPUS MINISTRY TEAM

The work of CMT students builds a school where faith is alive. The team attends workshops and retreats.

CREATIVE WRITING

Students explore creative expression through writing, share ideas, and enter competitions together.

CWEC CLUB

The Catholic Women’s Empowerment Club helps students grow in faith and undertakes several service projects, including organizing a meal to serve at Sheffield Place.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Helping to foster a mindset for students to start a business. We will focus on ethical choices to help students make money, while keeping the most important things in life in mind. See Mateo Gajewski and Ryan Hutchinson for the application process.

FIELD HOCKEY CLUB

This group seeks to grow the sport of field hockey within the walls of Miege. Girls push themselves competitively while building bonds around a fun, community-building sport!

As one of our largest clubs, students meet to learn about getting a fishing license and coordinate fun fishing discussions and tournaments.

Members promote healthy living and support the community by helping provide nutritious food options to others.

FRENCH CLUB

Students in any level of French class are eligible to be in French Club. Students connect over the French language, culture, and food.

GOLDEN YEAR CARE

This club’s mission is to make senior citizens feel seen and brighten their day. We create cards and gifts at school and deliver them to local nursing homes.

GRAPHIC DESIGN CLUB

This club gives students interested in the world of graphic design/arts an opportunity to practice and develop new design skills in our state-of-the art Mac lab as well as visits from design professionals.

HOSA

As an accredited HOSA-Future Health Professionals school, science students have the chance to learn from various health professionals about paths in the medical field.

LATINO ASSOCIATION CLUB

This club highlights the richness of Latino traditions while building connections across the Miege community. The goal is to offer cultural activities and meaningful events that expand awareness and respect.

MATH CLUB

Students sharpen their math skills, collaborate on challenges, and prepare for competitions in a fun, supportive setting. The largest competition of the year is the Pittsburg State Math Relays.

A space for young men to grow in faith through prayer, discussion, and community support. This group fosters holiness and a sense of brotherhood.

Focusing on the beauty of all life, this group helps organize and participates in the school’s pro-life efforts.

Want to hang out with some people who loves movies as much as you do? This group discusses what makes movies great while sharing some scenes from our favorite flicks.
