The Transfer Experience from a Student's Lens
Bishop Miege offers a strong sense of community and inclusiveness. When I transferred as a sophomore, I was blown away by how fast people pulled me in, kids and teachers alike. Students come from a wide range of backgrounds, and new students are quickly included in conversations and activities, and the overall atmosphere is friendly and supportive.
Diversity is one Miege’s greatest strengths. The student body represents many different cultures and perspective, which adds depth to classroom discussions and school events. Programs like Kairos and service trips connect the school as a whole. Getting involved is easy at Miege. The school offers a variety of clubs, sports, and activities, including robotics, debate, theatre, newspaper, choir, and numerous athletic teams. There are also service opportunities and leadership positions available for students who want to participate. Overall, Bishop Miege provides a welcoming environment where students from diverse background can feel at home.

The Transfer Experience from a Parent's Lens
I attended Catholic school K-12, but opted to try public school for my children. As my son neared high school, I knew he really needed a smaller academic setting where teachers cared and knew him, caring friends, and a competitive sports experience. Our neighbors also happened to attended Bishop Miege, so the commute was going to work. We talked it over with my son, and he transferred the second semester of his freshman year.
He was welcomed with open arms from day one. He has grown so much in his faith, and I wouldn’t trade his academic and spiritual experience for anything. As a parent, the various parent groups have also been super welcoming, engaging, and supportive. Once a Stag, always a Stag! Go Stags Go!

Academic Criteria for Transfer Students
All transfer students will be considered for acceptance to Miege based on their ability to meet our graduation requirements under the normal progression policy. Transfer students must have been in attendance at a previous high school and be a student in good standing. Students in “good standing” are those within the parameters of the Bishop Miege attendance and discipline requirements. In addition, the Admissions Committee will meet to consider the prospective student’s entire record.
Juniors/Seniors
All juniors entering Miege must meet the following criteria: First-semester juniors must have a minimum of 13 credits; second-semester juniors must have a minimum of 16 credits. All junior transfers must have two credits in English, two in math and two in science. All junior transfers must be able to acquire the minimum of 26 total credits to meet Miege’s graduation requirements. (International students only considered for first-semester transfer.)
Students are not normally accepted for enrollment during the final year of high school. Exceptions to this rule: Student is moving in from outside the metropolitan area, student has been previously enrolled at Miege, or another student in the family is simultaneously enrolled at Miege.
Second-Semester Freshmen/ Sophomores
All first semester sophomore transfer students need to have 6.5 credits, which should include one in English, and one in math. Second semester enrollees need a minimum of 9.5 credits after sophomore year.
All second-semester freshmen transfer students must have a minimum of (3) credits.
