Program Summary
A powerhouse in Kansas high school basketball, the Bishop Miege girls basketball program has a tradition of excellence, boasting 25 state titles. The program started under the leadership of legendary coach Terry English, who amassed over 900 career wins.
The 2023-24 varsity team continued the legacy by capturing the Eastern Kansas League (EKL) championship, showcasing their relentless work ethic, skill, and championship mindset. With a history of developing elite talent and competing at the highest level, Bishop Miege remains one of the most respected programs in the state.

Sydney Ritter
A multisport student-athlete at Miege, Sydney Ritter (’13) played basketball under Coach Terry English. After graduating in 2013, she continued her basketball career at Graceland University before returning to Miege in 2017 as an assistant coach, where she spent six seasons helping shape the program. She then served as head coach at Liberty North High School for the past three years, continuing to grow as a leader of young women on and off the court.
For Coach Ritter, returning to Bishop Miege is more than a coaching opportunity. It is a chance to give back to the school and community that played such an important role in her life. Deeply connected to Miege and its mission, she is excited to lead the program and invest in the next generation of student-athletes.
