How the Impact of Club Sports at Miege Shaped My High School Experience
The addition of our five club sports (girls field hockey, boys volleyball, girls and boys lacrosse, and boys rugby) allows more students to become involved to be a part of a team. The impact of club sports means that lacrosse has allowed me to establish new friendships and grow in old ones to make my experience at Miege even better.

Throughout my time at Miege, I have been involved in various activities ranging from yearbook to swim. My whole life I had swam, but junior year instead of following my usual routine, I decided to try something new. I joined the lacrosse team, and it could not have been a better decision. I had never played lacrosse before but instantly fell in love with the sport. I made so many new friends and always looked forward to going to practice after school. The impact of club sports has made such a difference for me.
Trying something new changed everything for me
One memory I will never forget was my senior year when Luci Switzer scored the game-winning goal against Olathe. The amount of excitement and passion the whole team showed made me realize how important lacrosse is at Miege. If lacrosse would have never been implemented my freshman year, we would have never had the ability to even play in that game.
More teams, more chances to belong: The impact of club sports
The ability to try a new sport or become involved in something new is a great privilege that Miege offers. The addition of our five club sports (girls field hockey, boys volleyball, girls and boys lacrosse, and boys rugby) allows more students to become involved to be a part of a team.
